Match Report: Kilcolman Rovers A.F.C 4–2 St. Ita’s Reserves

The Reserves returned to Desmond League action after a number of years away, travelling with a youthful squad to face Kilcolman Rovers in the Division 3 League Cup.

The hosts started strongly and opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Both sides created chances in a lively first half, but Kilcolman held their lead at the interval.

The Saints responded quickly after the restart, drawing level on 55 minutes when Jamie Ryan’s well-struck corner evaded everyone and found the net. However, the parity was short-lived as Kilcolman restored their advantage from a corner just two minutes later, before extending it further shortly after the hour mark.

The hosts added a fourth late on to put the tie beyond doubt, though there was still time for a consolation goal as Jack Hennessy converted from the penalty spot in the closing stages.
