Underage games this Saturday
U12 Boys played host to Askeaton Kilcornan AFC this morning in Ashford. The saints took the lead through a Daniel Clifton goal, the visitors replied before halftime to leave the side level at half time. 2nd half both teams had lots of chances. James Mulcahy played a blinder in goals repelling shot after shot. Our lads peppered the askeaton/kilcornan goal but found another keeper in fine form. The goal that decided the game came for the visitors with 5 minutes to go. Final score 2-1 to the visitors. Best of luck to askeaton/kilcoman in the next round of the cup.
U10 Boys put on a show as always when they welcomed a strong Carrig Celtic to Ashford.
U14 Girls knew they were in a tough game in the cup when they traveled to Glin to play GB Rovers FC with the sides at opposite sides of the league table. Our girls couldn’t be faulted for the effort they showed but just wasn’t their day. Kayla was very unlucky not to score a consolation with minutes to go when he fabulous strike thundered back off the upright and away to safely.
Best of luck to GB Rovers in the next round.
