The U10 & U8 Girls were first to play this week when they travelled to abbeyfeale on Thursday night to play their Hosts. 2 great games were had under lights.
Our U10 Boys kicked off proceedings on Saturday morning when they travelled to Shanagolden to play Shannonside. As always the Boys gave a great account of themselves. The U14 Girls were the 1st of the games to be played in Ashford when they played host to Abbeyfeale. They were looking to get a positive result after a few strong performances without any rewards.
1st half playing up the hill our girls had 4 or 5 good chances but failed to take them.
2nd Half the visitors came into the game a lot more putting more pressure on our goal as the half progressed. But resolute defending and great team effort kept them at bay. Special mention of a wonderful save made by Lily o Sullivan with only minutes remaining to keep it scoreless. And that’s how it finished. 0-0
The U12 Boys played in the 3rd Rd of National cup against fellow Desmond league side Breska Rvs. They reside in a division higher than our boys so knew it would be a tough encounter. The lads didn’t disappoint with a great performance. 2 goals by Ruairi McEnery and a clean sheet at the other saw us through to the next round. Great achievement to progress this far. Thanks again to the parents who helped out in the Ash afterwards with refreshments.

Final game of the day was the U16 Boys with the unenviable task of travelling to limerick to take on Aisling Annacotty in the 3rd Rd of the National cup. They lads gave it their all against a very strong side but the home team ran out comfortable winners in the end.
