U10 Girls travelled to Athea United A.F.C Sat morning, where they played 2 great games showcasing both teams talent and skills.
U14 Girls welcomed Killavilla United AFC in the first round of the national cup in Ashford, we started the game on the front foot playing lovely soccer out from the backs which lead to our first goal with a good strike to the roof of the net by Sinead Moloney. 5 mins later we were caught in defence and Killavilla got the equaliser. With 20 mins gone and still playing some lovely soccer we held our own. Killavilla hit their purple patch for the next 5 mins scoring 3 goals. On the stroke of half time we put extra pressure on their kick out which resulted in Aya-Mai rounding the keeper for our second goal. Half time 2-5. We started the second half the same as the first with plenty of pressure on them, but unfortunately they got in for 2 more goals. For the final 15 mins we had a good few chances but could not convert these. All in all a great display from our girls against a very strong Killavilla side who got to the final of this competition last year.
Final score St Itas 2  Killavilla 7.
U12 Boys traveled to ballyhahill to take on GB Rovers in a Div 2 game. The lads led at half time 1-0 with a goal from Ruairi mcinery. Unfortunately in the second half we let them back into the game with us missing multiple chances to kill off the game. Even though Ruairi doubled his goals tally it wasn’t enough with the home side winning 3-2 at the final whistle. We will take the positives from all of the opportunities we created.
