Junior side welcomed Creeves Celtic to Ashford this morning in the Munster junior Cup. The visitors were fastest to settled and took the lead in the 12th minute. Free kick struck the wall and James o Connor was first to the loose ball. We had a chance to pull level in the 39th minute from the penalty spot, creeves keeper saved to his left and TJ couldn’t direct his header into the net from the rebound. Minutes later TJ tested the keeper who made a good save at his right hand post. We’d come to rue these missed opportunities.

Ita’s had more of the play in the second half. TJ and Callum went close without testing the keeper.
Creeves doubled their lead from the spot in the 70 minute. Chances came and went for both sides without either keeper working too hard. A Gloss was put on the scoreline with 3 minutes to go with a 3rd goal for the visitors from the boot of S Mangan.
Overall a deserved win for Creeves but could have been a lot different if we’d take our 2 big chance before halftime.
